TSMC: Additional US$9.2 billion to fully expand advanced, mature and special pro

TSMC, a leading wafer manufacturing company, proposed in June this year that it would invest US$73.6 billion to build 4 new 2-nanometer fabs and 4 3-nanometer fabs in Tainan. The planned expansion of the plots has come one after another.

This time, TSMC also approved at the board of directors that it will provide guarantees to TSMC's wholly-owned subsidiary in Arizona and issue senior unsecured corporate bonds with an amount of no more than $4 billion to fund its capacity expansion.

A few days ago, Su Zifeng, chairman and CEO of AMD, publicly stated that AMD will expand its 5nm product lineup, which will be exclusively undertaken by TSMC, and has already ordered a large amount of TSMC's 5nm process capacity.
It is reported that AMD's 5nm production capacity in TSMC is expected to reach the level of 20,000 wafers per month, while TSMC's 5nm production capacity is at most 100,000 wafers per month, accounting for nearly 20% of TSMC's 5nm monthly production capacity.
In addition, it is also reported that Apple has notified suppliers that it will expand the initial total stock of the new iPhone 14 series to a maximum of 95 million units, an increase of about 5%. As Apple is TSMC's largest customer, the demand for orders is bound to continue to rise.
